Pastor Krueger’s Bible Class beginning September 19, 2010

Beginning on September 19th you are invited to attend Pastor's bible class which will utilize material from the publication "Good News" which is made available to our churches through the Concordia Mission Society. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall from 9:20-10:15am each Sunday morning. Our first subject will be "Abiding in Christ" - a series which celebrates our relationship with our Savior and how that relationship impacts our daily life.

“Eliminate the (Operating) Deficit” by December 31, 2010

During the months of October, November and December please help Holy Cross end this calendar year with $0.00 of operating debt.

Due to the elimination of Thrivent's "Matching Funds" program this past year and the end of our 160th anniversary year special contributions we entered 2010 knowing we would be minus nearly $70,000 in overall contributions to our ‘Cost of Ministry'. This represents a staggering amount of financial support that we have to operate our ministries of church and school without.

Thank you to our Holy Cross members who have given special offerings in remembrance and celebration of their birthday and / or wedding anniversary. So far this year we have received $5,754 that has provided crucial support for our ‘Cost of Ministry' this year.

Thrivent Members, September Update

In the past several weeks letters have been sent to eligible members making them aware of the dollars that they can designate to a charity approved by Thrivent. Some of you may not have yet received your letter, because the mailings are spread over a seven week period. When you get your letter please respond either by phone or on line.

Rally Day! Fall Sunday School & Bible Study Begins

GET READY TO RALLY! Sunday School and Bible Studies will be starting up again on September 12 with Rally Day! We will begin in the church nave at 9:20 a.m. with a special opening devotion, followed by the presentation of Gift Bibles to 3rd grade members of Holy Cross. Afterwards, we will all go to our various classrooms to meet the teachers and begin our studies.
